This engagement titled “Doing Business with KwaZulu-Natal,” aims to reinforce the province’s position as a premier investment destination and encourage the local and international business community to engage with KZN. Themed- “KwaZulu-Natal is Open for Business,” the dialogue will feature industry leaders from the public and private sectors to engage on the resilience of KZN which has endured a global pandemic with crippling lockdowns, debilitating civil unrest and devastating floods.
The unprecedented impact of these adverse events on the economy led the provincial government developing a provincial economic recovery plan. Despite the challenges, through TIKZN, the province attracted investments to the value of R5.3 billion, creating more than 8500 jobs. KZN boasts two of the busiest ports on the continent, with a world class airport strategically positioned between them. In the same precinct is the logistics and manufacturing hub, the Dube TradePort. The province is also linked to the economic hub of Johannesburg through excellent roads infrastructure.
Chief Executive Officers of KZN’s economic development entities will share the services they offer to support the ease of doing business in KZN and how their work contributes to KZN being the country’s second largest economy. The Invest KZN One Stop Shop will also be unpacked and the KZN Growth and Recovery Initiative established to restore the economy of the province, will be discussed. Investment successes and opportunities will be highlighted at the dialogue.
Private sector speakers will share their experiences of doing business in KZN.
